We are a sail training ship, so it's wonderful that a whole school came aboard on Saturday! This time it is the primary school in Semily. The children can't quite stretch their holidays out to two years, but a week at this outdoor school  will be a great experience and adventure. They spent Saturday by the water and I get the feeling that even that wasn't enough for any of them. You can never have too much swimming. Sunday morning aboard La Grace is all about shopping and topping up the water. We spared the children the work, though, and they set off on a history expedition in Napoleon's footsteps. Elba is woven through with this commander, and Portoferraio especially so. But don't worry. We're not overdoing the lessons. Right now the children are standing outside the best ice cream shop on Elba and guess what their faces will be smeared with. In the afternoon we have a bit of yachting ahead of us, but mostly swimming and jumping into the water off the rope swing. The children have been reminding us of this pastime ever since they arrived. They saw it in the film that was shown at school as a record of last year's voyage by last year's seventh-graders.
