About the Ship

La Grace is a replica of a historic brig from the second half of the 18th century, with which we sail the seas and oceans. Our aim is to revive Czech maritime history. We want to give the members of the La Grace club, who built this ship and regularly repair and maintain her, the chance to sail a historic vessel while learning seamanship and its proud traditions.

According to available sources, La Grace was the name of the ship of Augustin Heřman, the first true Czech seaman. We began building the ship at the end of 2008 in a shipyard in Egypt, where vessels are still built the traditional way; she was launched on 5 December 2010.

Sailing with La Grace

We are a training ship. To keep her running, we also offer a limited number of voyages to the public. The sailing plan is built around your interest — tell us when, how many people and where you would like to sail, and we will put together next season's route from these non-binding requests. The published plan tends to fill up quickly, so it pays to get in touch early.
