The La Grace Museum

In the spring of 2016 an exhibition devoted to La Grace was created in Kavalír II in the town of Terezín — the only Czech sail training ship, a historic sailing vessel born as the realised dream of people carrying within them the idea of the sea, a vision of a calling to sail and the urge to continue Czech maritime history. But the La Grace museum is much more than an exhibition about one ship. Among other things, it is an exhibition of the maritime history of the Czech lands.

You may not know it yet, but many years ago a very interesting exhibition on the history of La Grace was created in the Terezín fortress (Kavalír 2). It was set up under the leadership of Franta Šefl, and many volunteers lent a hand. A museum is not just all the old stuff that breaks or wears out on us. To be alive, it has to be full of people in costume at the events held in it. The lads and lasses here have managed that, so come and take a look and perhaps keep your children entertained.
