None of us realised at the time how large the costs of such a big ship would be. Our ranks kept growing, though, and a large club of La Grace friends soon came into being. Hundreds of volunteers helped us there with donations and, above all, with their own hands. We soon found that La Grace is very well suited to serving as a sail training ship. She began sailing the world with cadets on board and taking part in the Tall Ship Races. Victories in several of them earned her recognition and the status of a safe, well-run ship. Although we are involved in many non-profit projects, we had to set up a small family company in order to raise the money the ship's budget needs. That does not make us a travel agency. It is also an opportunity for you to get on board. In some countries we take a limited number of guests on board (max. 12 people). Guests can enjoy sailing under white canvas, swimming or diving without having to work. Bear in mind that in many cases you will step outside your comfort zone here. You are boarding a historical ship, with everything she offers and every rule she has.

To the rest of you, our cadets, we offer the chance to live the life of an 18th-century sailor. Expect romance and adventure, but also a great deal of learning and daily work, without which the ship would not move at all. We promise it will be an unforgettable experience.
