Courses for skippers of small/recreational craft

A small craft is

1. a craft with its own engine of a power greater than 4 kW

2. a sailing boat with a total sail area greater than 12 m2

3. a craft without its own propulsion (a rowing boat) with a total weight (including the permitted load) greater than 1000 kg

VMP- vnitrozemské vodní cesty v ČR
VRP-I -vnitrozemské vodní cesty v zahraničí
VRP-C -příbřežní mořské vody do vzdálenosti 1 Nm od pobřežní linie

A VMP certificate can be obtained by a person with legal capacity over 16 years of age, a VRP certificate by a person with legal capacity over 18 years of age. The VRP qualification can only be obtained by an applicant who already holds the VMP qualification. Both examinations can, however, be combined and taken on a single day.

Conditions for obtaining the qualification to command small craft

passing a theoretical examination - it takes the form of a computer test before a board of the State Navigation Administration (organised by our partner sailing school in Hradec Králové)

for selected categories, passing a practical examination
Exempt from this practical examination are those who already hold an Offshore Yacht Master (Czech MD licence, category C) certificate and those who only want the M20 and S20 category qualification, so it concerns groups M and S! This examination is taken before an examiner appointed by the State Navigation Administration. Information and any contact details will be given to participants during the course.
Submission of a medical certificate of fitness issued by the general practitioner who holds your medical records. The certificate must not be more than 3 months old on the day of the examination.
Payment of an administrative fee (duty stamp), currently 500,- Kč.
