The Covid-19 situation in Italy
Italy went through the pandemic right in the first wave of 2020, and since then, unlike the Czech Republic, its situation has been improving all the time with slight fluctuations. Some parts of the country are even white zones now, where nobody is infected. Even so, tourism is not out of the woods yet. The coastal parts of the country and the islands are 100% dependent on tourists, so the government promises that this year the season will start, with certain restrictions, right after Easter, and in full from 1.5.2021.
That is the date on which we want to set sail as well.
There has been a great improvement for travellers from the financial point of view as well. Under the current rules, all you need to enter Italy after 6.4.2021 is an antigen test, which you are all entitled to free of charge from your health insurance. The test must be done no more than 48 hours before you enter Italy. You also need to ask for the foreign-language annex to the test, which is free as well. After your return, a PCR test follows within 5 days for 1.750 Kč.
Pessimists see this as making your voyage almost 2.000 Kč more expensive; optimists, though, realise that it is a saving of 2.500 Kč compared with last year for the PCR test with a foreign-language annex, and above all that the pointless 14-day quarantine on arrival has been scrapped.
The La Grace team looks forward to seeing you on board.
